Orange Island Announces Board and Management Transitions
Lagos, Nigeria —Orange Island Development Company today announces the
retirement of its Chairman, Alhaji Waheed Kassim from the Board, alongside the retirement from executive management of its pioneer CEO Director, Olayinka Ogunsulire and CFO, Olusegun Faloju.
These transitions mark the close of a formative chapter in Orange Island’s journey. Under their stewardship, Orange Island evolved from concept to a landmark development, setting new benchmarks for integrated, master-planned communities and establishing a strong foundation for long-term growth. While stepping back from executive roles, Ms. Ogunsulire and Mr. Faloju will continue to serve as members of the Board providing continuity and strategic perspective.
The Board expresses its deep appreciation to the retiring leaders for their vision, discipline and commitment, which have positioned Orange Island as a reference point for quality and innovation, in sustainable urban development.
Concurrently, the Board announces the appointment of Mr. Lookman Durosinmi-Etti as the new Chairman of the Board. Mr. Durosinmi-Etti, a sitting non-executive director of Orange Island Development Company, is Senior Partner and one of the founding forces behind the leading Nigerian legal practice Jackson, Etti & Edu. He has over three decades of proven expertise in commercial, real estate, and intellectual property law. His career spans leadership in multinational transactions, advisory roles on complex infrastructure and property projects across Africa, and recognised contributions in legal practice and business strategy.
He brings a strong commitment to governance excellence and sustainable development complementing Orange Island’s strategic ambitions.
The Board looks forward to Mr. Durosinmi-Etti’s leadership as it advances the Island’s next phase focused on scale, operational excellence, and value creation for residents and stakeholders.
